Nick Kleinjan

Nick Kleinjan Software Developer Nick Kleinjan is the founding member of PCT. He is the company's lead consultant and architect. He is a Sr. Software Engineer and Data Architect with more than 28 years of software and entrepreneurial experience. He has been creating websites and software applications since 1996.

Former project work includes manufacturing data systems, process controls, handheld field data collection systems, web based reporting services, and even an iPhone based web application for the medical field. Past projects were for companies both large and small. Some notable organizations include NASA, Boston Scientific, Corning, Trane Building Automation, Beckhoff Automation, Baker Hughes, Mercedes Benz, and Ecolab.

I started my career working as an Applications Engineer at Trane Building Automation Systems in 2000. After only one year, however, I decided to move on to a Controls & Software Engineering position working with motion and process controls at Beckhoff Automation. I worked there for three years, and became an expert at their TwinCAT, motion control, CNC, and IEC1131 PLC controls programming. In addition to engineering tasks, I assisted with trade shows and technical sales efforts. I was part of a talented team that helped the small, startup Beckhoff USA branch grow very significantly during its first few years.

I left Beckhoff in 2004 to start my own technology company, DataNAB, LLC, along with partners Adam Van Oort and Andy Stadheim. Shortly thereafter, the three of us founded a second company called AiRNAB, LLC, where I was the Chief Architect and lead developer on its flagship Windows Mobile product. The AiRNAB system is a handheld mobile data collection system used by the construction industry. I also spent a considerable amount of his time during this period consulting and working with various customers.

In the fall of 2008, I founded my consulting company PC Control Technologies, LLC(PCT). I hope to use my experiences to help other companies develop their unique software ideas. At PCT I am currently working on several customer projects using .NET, Windows Mobile, and Beckhoff technologies. Over the years, I have grown a dynamic and talented network of partners and software consultants who can be called upon to make any project a success. Currently I spend most of my time working on customer projects, networking, and creating new PCT product prototypes.

I have always strived to be very customer focused and am an entrepreneur at heart. I graduated from South Dakota State University in 1999 with degrees in both Mechanical and Biosystems Engineering. I am currently living in Minneapolis. Although a steadfast .NET, Beckhoff, and Mobile enthusiast, I value my time away from a computer, and enjoy running, hiking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family in my home state of South Dakota.
